April is community service month, and like many others we want to leave our communities in a better place than we found them. There are several ways to do this, it can be by donating your time to a volunteer organization, donating money, cleaning up a park, or hosting a food or item drive to give back to those in need.
There really is no way to go wrong when it comes to giving back, but there are some do’s and don’ts of charitable gifting if that’s the way you choose to go about it.
Wanting to give back to charity is a noble and admirable goal, make sure your dollars go as long as possible by choosing qualified charities, donating appreciated securities, and using strategies that are appropriate for your personal financial situation.
